- him -

I never did know where he came from. Or why. In fact, I never found the time to ask him. But, from the moment he entered into my life, I was always glad that he had. It was never a question that he had travelled far throughout his life. There was never a moment where I felt that his experiences - of which I knew nothing - would not have application to the topic at hand. He possessed that rare aura of certainty; a sense of knowing on which all else could be staked. And when exchanging ideas with him, he made me to feel that I knew too. It was the reassuring tone of how he spoke. That, paired with the eloquence with which ideas translated from his mind to his tongue and rolled out in a formation that made them worthy of repeating. It was in his eyes - that look he gave you when you asked a question. It was like, he knew that you already had your own answer and that therefore you should realize that your opinion should be valued first, before that of anyone else. He didn’t much care what that opinion might be. But he respected the strength you displayed by making that opinion known.
