when did the choice become mine?
yes, there is a choice to be made
at times of new exposure
but the fear that lies deepest
was built free of entitlement
a result of pain and growth
and forgetting to attend
so if the choice is mine
my failure lies not in the moment now
but of moments long past
and neglect born from ignorance
